Amino Acid Usage in S. cerevisiae


Serine is the most abundant amino acid, encoded by almost 9% of the codons in the sequences, while tryptophan and cysteine are each encoded by just over 1% of the codons.

Table 1 lists the relative frequencies of the 20 amino acids, also displayed in Figure 1:
